About Artist:
Kim West Napurrula is a Pintubi woman born near Kiwirrkurra, south of Lake Mackay, in the Gibson Desert in Western Australia, in 1960. She was married to Yuendumu George. Her country is around Marrapinti, a significant Women's Dreaming site, and incorporates soakages in desert country that runs along the Northern Territory and Western Australian border.
In her paintings Kim Napurrula depicts her traditional country, and the Women's ceremonies and Jukurrpa (Dreaming) of her Pintupi people. She currently lives at the community at Kiwirrkurra.
Kim is a Papunya Tula Artist and her works have been exhibited around the country.
