In 2000, Bindi Inc supported the creation of Mwerre Anthurre Artists, an artist collective which focuses on encouraging the promotion of culturally relevant work options and art skill development for a number of employees who display a genuine interest in arts career development. Mwerre Anthurre means ‘beautiful art’ and art made ‘proper way’ in the Arrernte language of Central Australia. Located in Alice Springs, Bindi Inc is a cross cultural Human Rights Organisation providing support in lifestyle and employment options. Mwerre Anthurre Artists believe in empowerment through art, as the creation of art provides income and purpose. It is culturally significant and culturally rejuvenating with each painting being a connection to country.

Mwerre Anthurre Artists have received recognition nation-wide due to a series of high profile exhibitions and are now represented throughout major collections at the National Gallery of Australia, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Queensland Art Gallery, the National Gallery of Victoria and the Art Gallery and Museum of the Northern Territory and have since become highly sought after. Billy Benn Perrurle is a founding member of the collective and was selected in January 2007 by Australian Art Collector as being in one of the fifty most collectible artists in Australia (this includes both indigenous and non-indigenous artists).
Working from Alice Springs, each artist provides a unique description and celebration of their traditional lands, recreated from memory and rich cultural heritage. The landscape painting that is produced at Mwerre Anthurre has a signature sense of place, connection to country and a deep understanding of colour.
