Malang - rock shelter Malang means rock shelter in Wiradjuri language. This painting was inspired by the different rock layers and formations creating shelters throughout the Blue Mountains (Dharug and Gundungurra country). Growing up in this area, as kids we would go exploring looking for these special places. These shelters are very sacred and hold so much history.
