Kim Butler lived in the Tjukurla Community with her mother Katjarra Butler Napaltjarri and her young daughter. Kim painted as the traditional Tjukurla artists have been painting for many years. Her father was a well known Papunya Tula artist, Anatjarra Jakammarra II and she has painted alongside family members for many years. She enjoyed going out hunting with a group of local people.

Kim tragically passed away at a young age on 29 December 2016.
