Lillian painted with the Ngaruwanjirri group from 1997 until its closure in late 2012. Ngaruwanjirri was established in 1994 and was created to provide employment opportunities for the people of Wurrumiyanga and to support local Tiwi artists with disabilities. She is a versatile artist, working in a range of mediums including lino block printing, watercolour, Batik on silk, and natural ochres on paper and canvas.
Lillian's exceptional watercolours reaveal her love of bright contrasting colours. Similarly, her paintings in natural ochres are highly original. Organic shapes and linear formations are heavily patterned with dots and lines, resulting in some very rich, gorgeous and unique works of art.
